Developing a network of specialist advice and support is a key part of our success

Co-ordinating Outside Expertise

Sometimes a resident has an extra medical or nursing need beyond our own expertise in dementia and in palliative care. At those times we will always seek help from the relevant specialist team (medical, nursing or other professional). The diagram below explains the extensive network of professional contacts that supports our work.

We have excellent links with a local general practice, who give us 24-hour cover for emergencies. In addition, one of their GP’s makes regular visits to review residents health and if medical help is needed between those times, any member of the practice is able to respond. Residents can also be seen by the community dentist and have regular visits from a podiatrist.
