Major Fundraising Appeal

Vale House, the charity dedicated to caring for people with severe dementia has launched a capital appeal to raise £2.4 million to go to towards the cost of our new care home at Sandford on Thames.

A fundraising committee lead by Richard Dick of W Lucy and Co has been working to raise funds from local businesses, trusts and foundations and members of the community in Oxfordshire.  The committee has been holding a number of fundraising receptions to help highlight the appeal in the community to attract support, as well as approaching trusts and foundations for grants.  So far, the committee has raised over £1.5 million towards their target. Sponsorship of the 40 ensuite bedrooms, living room spaces, courtyard gardens and equipment is being sought by the committee at present.  If you would like to know more about the appeal or would like to make a donation, please contact Allie Hogsbjerg, Capital Campaign Manager on 01993 823729 or email allie.hogsbjerg@gmail.com.

The Appeal Committee will be holding a number of fundraising events in Oxfordshire this year including Strictly Oxford which will take place at the Town Hall in Oxford on 15th July.  Tickets for the event are selling very well, so to secure your seat for one of the most amazing nights out in Oxford, please click this link for details.

“We hope that the business community and the people of Oxfordshire will help us to raise the balance of the £2.4 million to help pay for the fantastic new facility that Vale House has built.   This is our county’s dedicated care home for people with severe dementia and its vital for all of us that the charity can develop to cater for the growing number of people who will need their services now and in the future.

Every pound donated to the appeal will ensure that Vale House can support not only its residents but also the families who have been trying to cope, some for many years, with this devastating condition.  Dementia affects the whole family, not just the individual and can literally tear lives apart.  This is where Vale House steps in and supports the whole family unit.  We hope that the community in Oxfordshire will help lend its support to the Appeal and secure the future for Vale House and all those the charity supports,”

Richard Dick, chair of the Vale House Appeal Committee.
